Summer on the Prairies

The Artmobile and I made our way across the southern prairies in June, painting windblown fields, lemon yellow canola, rocks, badlands, and wide open space. Raine and I camped out under the stars and cooked our evening meals with the song of night crickets filling the air.

Connecting with Nature:
Artists preserving the Oak Ridges Moraine with Paint

Artists have a special gift. Through their artwork they can visually impress on the public the importance of protecting our nature preserves.

This summer, community artists from Lake Simcoe to Pickering, Caledon to Colborne were out painting scenes depicting the vast beauty of the moraine. From these impressions, twenty outstanding images were chosen to promote the awareness of our environment. Proceeds from the book will be donated in support of the preservation of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Book launch will be held at:

The Mill Pond Gallery
314 Mill Street, Richmond Hill
October 18th & 19th
10am-5pm
